Is Colombia the happiest country?
The claim is misleading without specifying the method and year. In WIN/Gallup International’s 2015 Barometer, Colombia had the highest “net happiness” score among surveyed countries: an 85-point difference between respondents calling themselves happy and unhappy. This is not the same as a life-satisfaction ranking. In the 2026 World Happiness Report, which compares average self-reported life evaluations from Gallup polling, Colombia ranked 68th (score 6.040). Colombia therefore topped one survey using a different measure, but is not unambiguously first on every measure of happiness.
