Giant Crystals of the Naica Cave

The Cave of the Crystals in Mexico’s Naica Mine contains giant gypsum crystals, including transparent gypsum known as selenite. Some exceed 11 metres in length. They formed extremely slowly from warm, mineral-rich water; age estimates depend on growth models and reach hundreds of thousands of years or more.
