Ex Contacts Still in the Phone

A 2008 Japanese poll by Sega/Hitokara reported that 45.2% of respondents kept an ex-partner’s contact and 54.8% deleted it; in each age group, men were more likely than women to keep the contact. But this was an online sample of mobile-site users, not a representative global estimate, and the source does not establish “just in case” as the reason. Other polls report different results. [1–2]

Keeping or deleting an ex’s contact is personal; polls vary.
