How long do blood cells live?
There is no single lifespan for all white blood cells: neutrophils may circulate for hours, while some lymphocytes persist for months or years. Red blood cells circulate for about 120 days on average. So “2–4 days for white blood cells” is an overgeneralization, while “3–4 months for red blood cells” roughly describes their usual lifespan.
Different types of white blood cells have very different lifespans.
