A little wonder, every day

A sequel without the usual series hero

In *The Tombs of Atuan*, Ursula K. Le Guin returned to the world of Earthsea after *A Wizard of Earthsea*, but centered the story on the girl Tenar rather than Ged. She called the novel a sequel and explained that she wrote it before fantasy series commonly followed a continuing hero in the way modern readers expect. The second book therefore extends the world of Earthsea while telling a distinct story from another point of view.
