The Simulation Hypothesis
The simulation hypothesis is a philosophical possibility that our experience could be implemented by a computational system. Nick Bostrom’s argument presents a conditional trilemma about future civilizations that might run ancestor simulations; it does not prove that we are simulated. The idea that “time” was intentionally or accidentally built into code is an additional speculation, not a scientific result. Modern physics describes time through measurements and mathematical models; there is no direct empirical evidence of an external simulator.
