Giraffes and Lightning Strikes

There is no reliable evidence that giraffes are struck by lightning 30 times more often than people. That multiplier comes from very few reported cases and incomparable risk estimates for people and giraffes; the evidence is insufficient for a precise comparison. Lightning has killed giraffes on rare documented occasions.
