Brain memory has no set bit counter

The claim that a person remembers an average of 150 trillion bits over a lifetime has no accepted scientific measurement or clear definition of what counts as “remembered.” Memory does not work like a digital drive: memories are distributed across brain networks, change, generalize, and can be forgotten. Estimates of brain “capacity” depend heavily on models and are not measurements of lifetime bits stored.
