The swastika predates Nazism and appeared in many cultures, including Indian religions. Its Sanskrit name relates to well-being and good fortune. Nazi appropriation made it a powerful modern symbol of racism and mass crimes. An ancient religious object and a Nazi emblem require different contextual explanations; a shared outline does not erase that history.
