An ancient pine long-liver
One of the oldest verified living individual trees is Methuselah, a Great Basin bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva) in California’s White Mountains. Tree-ring dating puts its age above 4,800 years. It is not a sequoia: giant sequoias also live for millennia, but known specimens are younger. Methuselah’s exact location is not public, helping protect the tree.
