The catfish that mouthbroods its eggs

In some catfish species, the male carries fertilized eggs in his mouth until they hatch. This behavior is documented in sea catfishes of the family Ariidae; in some species the male also carries the hatched young while they live on their yolk reserves. This is a feature of particular species, not all catfish.
