Both Vladimir Zworykin and Philo Farnsworth were important in the development of electronic television. Zworykin filed a television-system application in 1923; that is an application date, rather than evidence of a finished mass-market television that year. In 1927, Farnsworth made an image-dissector transmission tube and demonstrated fully electronic image transmission. Mechanical and electronic approaches developed alongside one another, and practical television emerged through many inventors and teams.
