China’s borders and time

China shares land borders with 14 countries. The country officially uses one standard time, China Standard Time (UTC+8), also known as Beijing Time. Because China spans a large longitude range, solar noon does not occur simultaneously across the country; in Xinjiang, local UTC+6 time is also sometimes used alongside the official time.
