Vatican’s railway and euro coins
Vatican City has its own railway station and a short track connecting it to Italy’s network. The Holy See’s official description gives 862.78 m from Rome San Pietro station to the tunnel end inside Vatican City; including the farthest shunting tracks, the total is 1,270.41 m. That is more than “about 700 m” if the full approach is counted, while only about 300 m of track lies within the State. The Vatican also issues euro coins with its own national side; the other side has the common European design.
