Perceptions of Bolivian hospitality

Bolivia, Venezuela, and Russia were listed as the three least welcoming to foreign visitors in the World Economic Forum’s 2013 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness measure. It was based on an executive survey about the population’s attitude toward foreign tourists, not a representative survey of foreigners themselves or a current assessment of attitudes toward all foreigners. It is an old, narrow ranking—not a universal description of a country or its people.
