In the United States, *Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire* sold about 3 million copies during its first weekend after release in July 2000. The figure of 8.3 million in the first 24 hours belongs to the series’ seventh book, *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows*, published in 2007. Publisher Scholastic identified that title as the record-setting first-day seller.
