Water’s three states on Earth
At the ordinary temperatures and pressures found at Earth’s surface, water naturally occurs as a solid, liquid, and gas: ice, liquid water, and water vapor. It is the only common substance regularly found in all three states across this narrow range of conditions. White geyser plumes and clouds are mostly tiny liquid droplets and ice crystals, while water vapor itself is invisible. [1–3]
