St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City is one of the world’s largest churches. Its official digital tour gives the main floor an area of about 22,000 square metres and describes the basilica as Christianity’s largest place of worship. Rankings depend on whether interior floor area, total site area, or another measure is used. We do not give an exact visitor capacity.
