How much bigger the Sun is than Earth

The original mixes up mass and volume: the Sun’s mass is about 333,000 times Earth’s, while its volume is about 1.3 million times greater. The familiar claim that roughly a million Earths could fit inside the Sun refers to volume; the Sun’s diameter is about 109 times Earth’s.
