Niger’s young population
Niger has one of the world’s youngest age structures. The UN Statistics Division reports that children aged 0–14 made up about 46.2% of the population in 2025—nearly half. “Younger than 16” does not match the standard 0–14 statistical group, and a first-place claim depends on the age cutoff and year; “among the highest child shares” is safer.
