The claim that San Marino has more cars than residents is not supported for 2024. A calculation based on vehicle-registration data puts the motorisation rate at about 980 cars per 1,000 residents—very high, but still below one car per person. Total vehicle counts may include motorcycles, trucks, and other categories, so they should not be described as passenger cars.
