The area of Europe and Ukraine

A common geographic estimate puts Europe’s area at about 10.2 million km²; Ukraine’s area within its internationally recognised borders is about 603,600 km². Europe is therefore roughly 17 times larger than Ukraine, not 15. The exact European total depends on where the Europe–Asia boundary is drawn and which portions of transcontinental states are included.
