Africa’s southernmost point

The southernmost point of mainland Africa is Cape Agulhas in South Africa, not the Cape of Good Hope. It lies roughly 150 km east-southeast of the Cape of Good Hope, but its southward difference in latitude is only about 55 km. Thus, 160 km is not the distance by which Cape Agulhas lies strictly south.

Cape Agulhas is Africa’s southernmost point.
