Pushkin monument in Shanghai
Shanghai does have a monument to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The first monument was unveiled in 1937; it was destroyed and rebuilt more than once, and the present version dates to 1987. We could not verify the claim that it is the city’s only monument to a foreign poet: Shanghai also has a monument to Polish poet Frédéric Chopin.
