Usain Bolt's record speed
Usain Bolt still holds the men’s 100 m world record at 9.58 seconds, set at the 2009 World Championships. That corresponds to an average speed of about 37.6 km/h over the full distance. A biomechanical analysis estimated his peak speed over the 60–80 m segment at about 44.7 km/h. There is no single typical running speed for “ordinary people”; it depends on fitness and conditions.
44.7 km/h is a short-segment peak estimate, not his 100 m average.
