Fact 1008 — Lake Yalpuh

Yalpuh is Ukraine’s largest natural freshwater lake. Its area is commonly given as about 149 km², though it can vary with water level; the lake is in the Danube basin. Its southern part is associated with the Danube floodplain, and it exchanges water with the Danube through Lake Kugurlui.
