The Amazon’s waters
The Amazon has the greatest water discharge of any river, and its basin spans several South American countries. Evaporation and plant transpiration return moisture to the atmosphere; its transport affects rainfall within the basin and elsewhere on the continent. This is a complex climate cycle, not simply a direct effect of river flow.
The Amazon sustains river and atmospheric water cycles.
