the Great Wall from orbit

The Great Wall of China is generally not visible to the unaided eye from low Earth orbit: it is narrow and has little contrast with the landscape. Individual sections can be photographed from orbit under favorable conditions, especially with high-magnification optics; satellite sensors can also detect them in imagery. That does not mean the wall is readily visible to human eyes.

The Wall can be photographed from orbit with optics, though it is difficult to see unaided.
