Educational attainment in Canada
Canada is often described as first or among the world leaders in the share of adults with tertiary education, but “most educated country” depends on the chosen measure. In OECD Education at a Glance 2026, 64% of Canadian adults have tertiary attainment (post-secondary education under the OECD definition), well above the OECD average. It is more precise to call Canada a leader by adult tertiary-attainment share, not unconditionally the “most educated” on every measure.
