water on early Earth
Geological evidence indicates that liquid water interacted with rocks on Earth about 4.3–4.4 billion years ago, while evidence for an early water cycle reaches at least 4 billion years ago. This does not mean that any particular drinking water is that old: “drinking” describes water’s suitability for consumption, not its geological age.
Ancient water and ancient evidence are not the same thing.
