Metals That Melt Near Room Temperature
Gallium melts at 29.7646 °C—slightly above typical room temperature but below skin temperature—so a small sample may melt in a warm palm. Cesium melts even lower, at about 28.44 °C, but elemental cesium is extremely reactive: it can ignite in air and reacts violently with water. It must not be handled by hand or demonstrated outside specialized conditions.
