Iceland's Geothermal Energy
Iceland makes extensive use of geothermal heat: more than 90% of the energy used to heat buildings comes from geothermal sources. It is also used in greenhouses, swimming pools, and electricity generation. Hydropower supplies the larger share of the country’s electricity, with geothermal plants providing a substantial share as well.
