How much cats sleep

Adult cats do spend a large part of the day sleeping or dozing. One study describes about two-thirds of the time as sleep, while veterinary sources commonly give roughly 12–16 hours per day—about 50–67%. The proportion varies with age, health, and lifestyle; kittens and older cats may sleep more. So 70% is an approximate upper estimate for some cats, not a universal rule for every cat.

Cats may sleep for about two-thirds of the day.
