Pando, the aspen giant
Pando in Utah is a clonal colony of quaking aspen made up of about 47,000 stems connected by a shared root system. Its total mass is estimated at roughly 6,000 tonnes. It is not one ordinary tree with a single trunk, but a large genetically unified organism that looks like a grove.
