How a seahorse eats
Seahorses lack a true stomach and have a simple digestive tract through which food passes quickly. They therefore feed frequently on tiny crustaceans and other small prey. But claims of an “extremely high metabolism” and instant absorption overstate the evidence: rapid gut transit alone does not measure metabolic rate.
