Time zones in Antarctica
Antarctica is not divided into one continent-wide time-zone system. For practical operations, stations choose a convenient local standard: McMurdo and Amundsen–Scott, for example, follow New Zealand time, while Palmer follows Chilean time. The claim is broadly right as a simplification, but multiple time standards are used in practice.
