Fact 1006 — Arabat Spit

The Arabat Spit is a sand-and-shell barrier spit in the western Sea of Azov, separating Syvash Bay from the open sea. The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine gives its length as 115 km; other reference sources report about 112–113 km, so approximately 112–115 km is a reasonable range.
