Що саме писав Арістотель про жінок, рабів і «варварів»?
In Book I of *Politics*, Aristotle defends the hierarchical structure of the ancient household and expresses views that are discriminatory today. He writes that “among barbarians the female and the slave have the same rank” (1252b), and reports a Greek poetic formula that Greeks should rule non-Greeks. This is not the literal claim “all peoples except Greeks are barbarians,” but his text associates barbarians and slaves with inferior political status.
Aristotle later says that a slave lacks the deliberative faculty, a woman has it “without full authority,” and a child has it in an undeveloped form (1260a). This is an argument about rational capacity in his philosophical scheme, not a specific statement about voting rights. It nevertheless fits his defense of women’s and slaves’ subordinate status. Saying women were “inferior in everything” overstates the text; it is better to quote his specific claims and context.
