What Earth is made of
By mass, Earth as a whole is made mostly of iron (about 32%), oxygen (30%), silicon (15%), and magnesium (14%). So the claim about iron and silicon is right but omits oxygen and understates magnesium. The crust has a different mix: oxygen and silicon dominate, while iron and magnesium are much less abundant.
Bulk Earth contains abundant iron, oxygen, silicon, and magnesium.
