Apollo 11: how much fuel was left?
The popular claim that Eagle had only 20 seconds of fuel left after landing is inaccurate. During descent, the crew was told they had an estimated 60 seconds remaining. NASA post-flight analysis estimated about 45 seconds actually remained at touchdown. The estimate of time until fuel exhaustion was uncertain by about 20 seconds because of gauge and telemetry limitations. This does not mean the spacecraft touched down with exactly 20 seconds of fuel.
