Venus’s acid clouds

Venus’s atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide, and its cloud deck contains sulfuric acid droplets and aerosols. Particles can descend from the clouds, but they evaporate in the hotter lower atmosphere well before reaching the ground. Sulfuric acid rain therefore does not reach the planet’s surface.
