Gobi’s climate and life
The Gobi has a highly continental, arid climate, with rapid temperature changes over the day and year and very cold winters. Yet the desert and surrounding steppes are not lifeless: adapted desert and mountain-steppe plants grow there, and rare animals including wild Bactrian camels and goitered gazelles live in the region.
Gobi’s dry steppes and rocky ranges support hardy species.
