People in Antarctica

Antarctica has no Indigenous population or permanent civilian residents; seasonal teams of researchers and support staff work at stations. Estimates of about 4,000–5,000 people in summer and roughly 1,000 in winter are common guide figures, but actual numbers vary by year and by whether nearby islands and ships are included.
