Left-handers are more than 7% of people

A large 2020 meta-analysis covering more than 2.39 million people estimated the prevalence of left-hand preference at about 10.6%. Its estimates ranged from 9.3% under the strictest criterion for left-handedness to 18.1% when non-right-handedness was defined more broadly. Thus, 7% is below the best pooled estimate, although prevalence depends on how handedness is defined and measured, as well as cohort and cultural context.
