Brazil and Argentina
This fact combines two geographic claims, but the first is inaccurate: Brazil occupies nearly, but not more than, half of South America. IBGE reports Brazil’s area at about 8.51 million km²; against South America’s roughly 17.84 million km², that is about 47.7%.
Synthetic illustration, not a cartographic source.
The second claim is correct when countries are compared by sovereign area: Argentina (2.78 million km²) is the largest Spanish-speaking country by territory; Mexico covers about 1.96 million km². Argentina’s state report to the UN also calls it the world’s largest Spanish-speaking country.
