Bulgaria is a leading rose-oil producer

Bulgaria is one of the world’s main producers of Damask rose essential oil, but an unconditional first place in both production and exports needs qualification. A 2024 review identifies Bulgaria and Türkiye as the two main producers, together supplying 80–90% of the global market; estimates for 2017 give overlapping production ranges for Bulgaria and Türkiye. Bulgaria reported exporting 936.5 kg to non-EU countries in 2024, but that figure does not establish a global export ranking.
