Agatha Christie’s pharmacy work informed her use of poisons

During the First World War, Agatha Christie first worked as a volunteer nurse at a Red Cross hospital in Torquay and later in the hospital dispensary, preparing and dispensing medicines. She trained in pharmacy, and the experience helped her describe poisonings plausibly. According to the Christie estate, more than 80 characters are poisoned across her works. Her husband Archie served in the Royal Flying Corps and was a pilot; more specifically, he served in France during the war.
