The publication history of *The Futurological Congress*

Stanisław Lem’s *The Futurological Congress* first appeared in Polish in the 1971 collection *Insomnia*. A Russian translation appeared in a Soviet science-fiction anthology in 1987. Soviet readers therefore received it well after the Polish edition, but the checked bibliographic records do not support the claim that the translation was rejected specifically because Lem emigrated.
