Sheep and people in the Falklands

The Falkland Islands do have far more sheep than people: the government’s agriculture department estimates about 500,000 sheep. The 2021 census counted 3,662 residents. That is roughly 137 sheep per resident; the ratio is approximate because the livestock and population figures use different reference dates and methods.
