No proof we breathe faster in spring

No reliable evidence was found for a universal rule that people breathe one-third faster in spring than in autumn. In a small study of 30 healthy men in western Siberia, breathing frequency under standardized resting conditions was the same across seasons, while some other lung measures changed. Season can affect particular symptoms or measures depending on climate and health, but the stated percentage is not established as a general pattern.
